Obviously these are pulling at our heart strings to encourage us to join the army or contribute money to help the cause. For those with children of course would want to do all they could to make sure that their children were always safe. The other ones are scaring you into buying bonds so that you don't live the horror of these bad men coming over to America and killing us. These posters are really interesting and do the job they were made to do in my opinion.
These pictures made me think of a more recent picture that came up online the other day. It was a campaign approved by Mitt Romney trying to do what the previous ads were doing; appealing to mothers and fathers everywhere with a baby. This ad, accompanied with sad music, tries to pull your vote for Romney, bashing Obama and his job, well lack of jobs in America.
After intriging my interests and emotions I further looked at the other political advertising that appealled to those that love children. These two pictures depict the many starving children in America that don't get enough nutrition daily. These are both slamming Mitt Romney and even his wife Ann. One for Ann Romney and her comments about how hard they had it, having alot of pasta and tuna to eat. The other is slamming Romney and his campaign for their Trickle Down Theory.
There are many people that just fall for these advertisements, not knowing the real person they are slamming. People's minds get cloudy when emotion comes in to play. I'm a mother of two and I could see where the sad music and poor children would really make you feel anger, sadness, and a feeling of needing to help. All throughout history we have used images and videos to persuade those into mutually thinking and feeling like us. They work so why stop? I wish though that people would get into the real politics and have some knowledge about the wars, campaigns, whatever it is on the news that they are showing us, but not really showing us what is underneath that portrait or video clip.
